Every country you've been to, back on your Lock Screen.

Years of trips, thousands of photos. You remember the photo, but not always where in the world you took it. Globespot puts one of your travel photos on your Lock Screen every hour or so, and tells you exactly where you were standing.

You remember the photo. Not where you took it.

That beach with the one palm tree. The night market full of smoke. The temple in the rain. You can picture every one of them, but was it Bali or Phuket? Lisbon or Porto? Which trip was that?

Your camera wrote it down at the time: every photo on your iPhone quietly saves where it was taken. Globespot reads that and gives the place back to you.

17,357 photos with a location, from 475 different places. That was the first library we tried Globespot on.

From "where was that?" to "that's right, it was there."

It takes about a second, every time you pick up your phone, wherever in the world you are.

  1. A photo you'd forgotten

One of your own travel photos is on your Lock Screen, from last month's trip or your first backpacking trip ten years ago.

  2. Wait… where was this?

    You try to place it

You stop for a moment and try to picture the trip. In game mode, you guess.

    The place comes back

The widget names the city, the country and the date. The memory usually comes back with it.

Where were you when you took it?

Globespot reads the location saved in each photo and names the place, in every country you've been to: the city, the country and the date. Tap the widget to see the exact spot on a map.

Not just the country. The exact spot.

"Somewhere in Italy" isn't a memory. Globespot takes you back to the beach in Sardinia, the viewpoint in the Dolomites, the street corner in Naples.

  • City, country and date on your Lock Screen, so you know the trip at a glance.
  • Tap the widget and the photo opens on a map, pinned where you were standing.
  • Countries you keep going back to show up again and again, from different trips.

The trips you'd forgotten you took.
The Memories You'd Forgotten You Made.

After years of travel, your best photos are buried under screenshots, boarding passes and receipts. Globespot only picks photos with a place, and you choose what comes back.

Game mode: you took this photo. Where were you?

How well do you know your own travels? Switch to game mode and your Lock Screen asks instead of telling. Pick from four places, see the answer on a map and keep your streak going.

The wrong answers come from countries and cities you've actually been to, so the more you've traveled, the harder it gets.

Guessing first makes you stop and picture the trip. That little bit of effort is what makes a place stick.
